Call for Presentation for IAVE World Volunteer Conference in Abu Dhabi

 

AVS is a member of the International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE).  As you may know, IAVE is the only international organization with the primary aim to promote, strengthen and celebrate the development of volunteering worldwide.  It holds volunteer conference every year for exchange, networking and inspirations of volunteerism across countries and cultures.

Hosted the first time in the Middle East, the 26th IAVE World Volunteer Conference will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  The Conference will be the single latest global gathering of volunteering experts and practitioners, and will be particularly momentous to celebrate IAVE 50th Anniversary.  Details are as follows,

     
Conference Theme   :   Volunteering Together to Enable Change and Create a Better World
Date :   11 – 14 October, 2020 (Sunday to Wednesday)
Venue :   Abu Dhabi Exhibition Company (ADNEC)
Host :   IAVE & Emirates Foundation
     

 

I. Call for Presenter

We have the pleasure to invite you to submit proposal for presentation in the breakout session related to any of the following themes:

1.  Volunteering 2030 – New Paradigms
2.  Future Leadership – the Role of Youth Volunteers
3.  Tolerance and Inclusion – Volunteering Enabling Community Cohesion and Embracing Diversity
4.  Corporate Volunteering – Delivering Business Objectives Through a Values Focused Mission
5.  Volunteering and the Digital World – Extending the Power of Volunteering Through New Technologies
6.  Measurement and Impact – Providing the Evidence that Volunteering is Good for Society and Good for You
7.  Volunteerism and Community Resilience – Locally Owned Solutions Delivering Impact
   

The proposal should be submitted in English with a maximum of 350 words.Selected presenter will be offered a waived registration fee.  The submission deadline is 31 March 2020.  For more details of the submission, please visit the online submission platform.  The result would be announced by end of April 2020.

 

II. Registration to the Conference

You are cordially invited to join the conference.The expenditure per person is estimated at around HK$13,000 (IAVE member)/HK$13,400 (non-IAVE member) for early bird registration by 30 June 2020. The cost includes the Conference registration fee, return flight ticket and shared room accommodation.

It would be a good opportunity for us to share and exchange with volunteer leaders around the world, to go beyond the boundary, to learn more about volunteerism and the development of volunteering in the new age.  For more information of the Conference, please visit http://www.iave2020.ae/.

 

III. IAVE Individual Member Registration

IAVE found in 1970 is led by international all-volunteer board of directors that sets strategic direction and guides the organization.  IAVE exists to promote, strengthen and celebrate volunteering in all of the myriad ways it happens throughout the world. With members in more than 70 countries, they are the connective tissue of a global network of leaders of volunteering, NGOs, businesses and volunteer centers that share a belief in the power of volunteers to make a significant strategic contribution to resolving the world’s most pressing problems.

  • membership fee is US$40 (1 year) and US$70 (2 years)
  • free of membership fee
