AVS celebrates this meaningful Day by organizing a series of activities with a brand-new theme “Do Good. Feel Good. Help with Kindness”, to promote the joy of helping others and inspire Hong Kong citizens to start their volunteering journey.

To further promote the HKV-Award, and to highlight the importance of volunteerism to the community, as well as the importance of volunteer recognition and encouragement, the AVS organized a Volunteer Service Day cum Territory-wide “Catch the Volunteer Tram" event in Western District today, which was well-supported by many celebrities from the political, business, sports and arts sectors.

Co-organized by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service (“AVS”), the Hong Kong Volunteer Award (“HKV-Award”) is dedicated to recognizing the contributions and achievements of outstanding volunteers, and corporations, organizations from different sectors, and of cross-sectoral partnership projects. The Award is to motivate more people, particularly the youth, to participate in volunteering, care for the underprivileged and share the love to inherit the spirit of volunteerism to build a caring and inclusive society.
