Vulnerable groups in society often face numerous difficulties and challenges in their daily lives. Fortunately, many kind-hearted volunteers are willing to give helping hand, selflessly dedicating their efforts to those in need and supporting them through tough times.
Even the smallest acts of kindness can create a ripple effect of positivity. For example, volunteers providing home repair services to low-income elderly individuals bring warmth to their living spaces, or volunteers offer free haircuts to those in need, demonstrating love and care for vulnerable groups.
The Hong Kong Volunteer Award (“HKV-Award”) Presentation Ceremony 2024 was successfully held on 10 December 2024. “Youth Power, Volunteering without Borders” is the theme of the HKV-Award 2024. The awardees, spanning across generations – youngsters, middle-aged, and elderly – showcased the broad participation and strong support for volunteerism across all sectors of society, including recipients of a series of Outstanding Awards, the Heroic Volunteer Award for acts of bravery and a series of volunteer service-hour based awards was also presented. We aim to inspire more people to participate in volunteering and to unite the power of the community in building a caring and inclusive society.
