Hong Kong Volunteer Programme of the 15th National Games

 
The Agency for Volunteer Service (AVS) has been organizing and managing volunteers to support various mega Hong Kong events, possessing extensive volunteer service management professional experiences. AVS was the co-organizer for the 2009 East Asian Games Volunteer Programme, responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support the Games.  In recent years, AVS actively collaborates with various partners to offer effective volunteer services management services in large-scale events, such as the Hong Kong Marathon, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (Hong Kong Section) Half Marathon, Hong Kong Transplant Games and Dialysis Games, Hong Kong Cyclothon, Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, etc.
 
It is the first time for Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao to co-host the 15th National Games (NG) and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) cum the 9th National Special Olympics Games (NSOG), which will be held from 9 to 21 November 2025, and 8 to 15 December 2025, respectively.  AVS is appointed by the HKSAR Government as an Assisting Organisation of the Hong Kong Volunteer Programme of the 15th National Games (the NGVP), and responsible for planning and execution of volunteer recruitment, training, deployment and management for the Games.
 
The Launching Ceremony for the 15th National Games Hong Kong Volunteer Programme was held on 20 July 2024 to kick-start the recruitment of volunteers. AVS invited more than 80 community leaders to serve as selection panelists for volunteers, ensuring the fairness, justice and transparency process.

AVS led volunteers in supporting the 2025 Shenzhen-Hong Kong marathon and the 15th National Games athletics (marathon) test event in February 2025, cheering on the athletes.

Invited by NGCO, AVS Vice Chairman Dr James Wong, BBS, JP and AVS CEO Ms Likie Lee, joined the HK delegation to attend the launch of the volunteer service theme and logo for NG, NGD and NSOG, and an exchange event between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Guangzhou in March 2025.
 
AVS Vice Chairman Dr James Wong, BBS, JP, together with AVS CEO Ms Likie Lee and Project Director Ms Sofia Fung, welcomed the visit of Mr Ma Fa Teng, Director of the General Office of Volunteer Service, the Executive Committee of the Guangzhou Competition Zone of the NG, NGD and NSOG, and his delegation and exchanged on volunteering in the Mainland China and Hong Kong.
 
AVS trainers attended a three-day Guangdong Competition Zone Train the Trainer workshop in March 2025.
